Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Head south on a tropical getaway to the Dominican Republic!  The Dominican Republic has an endless list of top-tier destinations, but Punta Cana takes the leads as the favorite. Known for its magnificent beaches, Punta Cana is recognized for its vast extensions of white sand, and clear sparkling waters. Some of Punta Cana’s beaches are also ranked as the world’s best by UNESCO! Experience the crystal clear waters and silky soft sand on a dune buggy, in a jeep, or even horseback. Stay at an all-inclusive resort to indulge in relaxation by the pool, or go on an excursion parasailing to see amazing views of the city! Looking to learn a bit about Punta Cana’s history? The island has an abundance of historical sites, museums, colonial architecture, the first hospital, and the first sugar mill! Whether you’re with friends or family, Punta Cana is a great bang-for-your-buck option!

Walt Disney World – Orlando, Florida

Arguably the top family getaway destination, Walt Disney World is guaranteed to be a good time for anyone of any age. Disney’s Aulani Resort & Spa features activities including a free kids camp and fireside storytelling. Children can meet their favorite Disney characters and watch movies under the stars. Although Walt Disney World is a popular tourist destination, there are ways to get around the crowds. Planning your day can alleviate the stress of being surrounded by so many people, and can also ensure visiting every park you may want to check out.  You can also skip the line for select attractions, shows, and Character Greeting with the FastPast+ By arriving earlier, eating your meals earlier, and making sure to take breaks, your family will get the most out of their trip.  Be sure to remember your sunscreen!

Clearwater Beach, Florida

Clearwater Beach is known for just that – its clear-water beach!  It stretches two and a half miles along its barrier island shore and features plenty of shopping and dining options for visitors.  Ranked Florida’s Best Beach Town in 2013, it’s a family-friendly option that can accommodate college students as well.  Phillies fans, rejoice! Get the most of your trip, and watch some baseball spring training! The Philadelphia Phillies spring training facilities are located in Clearwater at Bright House Field. Warmth, sunshine, and baseball – what more could you want for a vacation? Fun Fact: the Clearwater Jolley Trolley, a transportation service available for visitors in the town, has also been in service since 1982!

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Self-described as the island of happy days, vivid nights, and dreams that come true, visitors can make paradise in Jamaica whatever they want it to be!  Check out Montego Bay, the second largest city in Jamaica. While Montego Bay is a spring break favorite for the party animal in mind, it is also surprisingly low key. Browse the local craft stores at the Harbour Street Market, or the “hip strip” shops of Gloucester Avenue. You can even experience the underwater crevices of Widowmaker’s Cave for the ultimate diving excursion. Did you know the James Bond Film “Live or Let Die” was also filmed in the Jamaican city?  It’s full of fun tourist attractions, including Dunn’s River Falls, one of Jamaica’s natural features. The Falls are 180 meters of limestone terraces that visitors can hike before cooling off in its terraced pools. Looking for more adventure? Check out a jungle zip-lining tour to experience a rush of adrenaline!

Dublin, Ireland

Looking for a less traditional, but fun spring break vacation?  Head to Dublin!  The city gets its name from an old Irish Gaelic phrase, meaning “Black Pool,” and was founded by Vikings in the ninth century.  Approximately 50% of the population is less than 25 years old, so it’s the perfect destination for students looking to get a break from the stress of school and work. Traveling with family? Check out the Dublin Castle to immerse yourself in Irish history!
